Wow!  August 31 crept up on me.  It’s Blog Day 2009 already.  On Blog Day,  we are asked to list 5 blogs which may be of interest to our readers then link back to with your post.

  1. Frugal Tech points you to the best free and open source solutions to everyday tech problems.  I recently used one of their tutorials to set up a home server based on freeNAS.
  2. Michael Geist: Ottawa Law professor gives reasoned commentary on copyright, privacy and technology news.  (Looks like I picked him last year too.  Still the best source for a Canadian slant on the copyfight).
  3. GraphJam: Music and Pop Culture in Charts and Graphs. Let us explain them. OK, I’m a nerd.  And this is really funny stuff.
  4. Blaise Alleyne I thought I was the only Catholic, folk singing, songwriting, copyfighting, linux user in Canada.  Apparently there are at least two.
  5. Hugh McGuire, the co-founder of Book Oven and LibriVox blogs about writing and publishing in the Internet age.

Those  are my picks. Join the conversation and share some of your favorite blogs. You can write them on your own blog and tag it BlogDay2009 or send me some feedback on the blog at by email at or by calling 206-337-0611.
